2019 Ram 1500 in Van Nuys, CA

After 10 years of slight changes, upgrades, and refreshes, the 2019 Ram 1500 breaks new ground. This all-new, fifth-generation offering of the legendary pickup offers new tech, luxury, safety, and design that make it one of the most anticipated vehicles of the year. Whether you’re a Ram fan or you’re fresh to the brand, the 2019 Ram 1500 is an excellent choice for everything from the great outdoors to the urban jungle. Here’s a look at everything this pickup has to offer this year.

Trim Levels

The 2019 Ram 1500 reduces its trims from nine in 2018 to six this year, but these offerings still leave little to be desired. These trims include the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited. The 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman is the ultimate work truck, with features like a high-strength steel frame, standard keyless start, durable paint, and 18-inch steel wheels. The Big Horn builds on the perks of the Tradesman with features such as a chrome grille and bumpers and 20-inch alloy wheels. At the Laramie level, Ram introduces specs like bumper-to-bumper chrome accents, LED fog lamps, and LED taillamps. With the tough and rugged Rebel, the Ram 1500 gets skid plates, off-road tires, increased ground clearance, powder-coated bumpers, and LED headlamps. The Laramie Longhorn adds 22-inch wheels, high-beam headlight control, and LED bed lighting, while the fully loaded Limited adds a class-exclusive air suspension, power running boards, and a power tailgate.

Beneath the hood, the 2019 Ram 1500 comes with one of two engine options. The stock engine is a fully capable, 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 that pumps out 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. When you need a bit more power, an upgrade to the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 will do more than suffice. This beast offers 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque to get the job done. The most exciting addition to the 2019 engine lineup is eTorque. This partial hybrid system boosts torque when you need it, offering a bit of extra power at low speeds. It doesn’t increase the maximum torque, but you’ll sure notice eTorque with a boat or trailer in tow.

When you need to tow or haul something, the Ram 1500 is your greatest ally. With the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, this pickup gets a best-in-class 12,750 pounds of towing power, while the 3.6-liter option boasts a respectable 7,730 pounds. The Ram 1500 also gets impressive fuel economy, especially for the truck segment. The 3.6-liter engine nets about 25 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg in the city, and the Hemi follows that up with 23 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg in the city.

From top to bottom, the Ram 1500 has some of the top interior amenities in its class. Highlights for 2019 include a best-in-class 12-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, a media center with high-speed USB-charging ports, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, leather interior, and heated and ventilated seats.

Safety Features

This year’s Ram 1500 comes loaded with driver-assist safety features you won’t find on any of its competitors. New amenities include lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, and advanced air-bag technology.
